When you are planning that event to remember, it’s easy to forget the unfortunate things can happen that are beyond your control – such as extreme weather, accidents or no-show vendors. When these mishaps occur, they can threaten the financial investment you’ve made in your special event.
When Markel protects your event, all you need to worry about is celebrating the special day. The following wedding insurance coverage options will help give peace of mind for the perfect wedding day.
Wedding Liability Insurance
Markel’s Wedding Liability Insurance policy includes primary coverage for the ceremony and accompanying reception, the rehearsal dinner (if it is held within 48 hours of the wedding ceremony) and even while setting up and removing decorations if within 24 hours of the event date. Coverage can be purchased up to 1 day before the wedding date.
A Wedding Liability Insurance policy provides the following primary coverage:

Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability - Up to $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 total

Host Liquor Liability, if desired

Optional Cancellation Endorsement
Wedding Cancellation Insurance
Soon after you start planning your wedding, you begin incurring costs as you put down deposits, shop for special items, and sign contracts. These costs can add up very quickly.
Wedding Cancellation Insurance (which must be purchased at least 15 days prior to your event) reimburses you for any non-refundable deposits you may have if you have to cancel or postpone your wedding due to unforeseen circumstances, such as:
