Unfortunately, accidents happen.

The money that you spend hosting your event will seem insignificant in comparison to how much you could wind up paying if you or your company is held legally responsible for property damage or bodily injury that occurs at your event, or for alcohol-related accidents.

That’s why it’s extremely important to protect your risk with liability insurance for events. In fact, many venues will ask you to provide proof of event insurance liability before they agree to hold your event, often requiring that they are listed as an “Additional Insured” on your event liability insurance policy.

Markel will accommodate this request, and add your venue as an Additional Insured on your Special Event Liability Insurance – at no additional charge.

What Event Liability Insurance Covers

Markel’s Special Event Liability Insurance coverage includes primary coverage for damages for which you are legally liable for due to an accident at your event that causes bodily injury, property damage or personal injury. Coverage can be purchased up to 1 day before the event date.

Your Special Event Liability Insurance policy provides the following primary coverages:

• Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability – Up to $1,000,000 per occurence and $2,000,000 total
• Host Liquor Liability, if desired
• Optional Cancellation Endorsement

If there will not be any alcohol at your event, you can choose to remove coverage for any alcohol-related occurrences. If you exclude Host Liquor Liability coverage, your premium will be reduced.
